General Reservation Conditions
The rental of our rooms is made under the ordinary conditions of French law in such matters and in particular those below. Confirmation of the reservation by the tenant implies acceptance of these conditions.

Reservation
We rent Guest Rooms with breakfast and we are not a hotel or a Gite. We do not offer the possibility of preparing food in your room.
Our rooms are rented according to French law and the European community, the general conditions mentioned below expressly apply to the rental.
Confirmation of your rental request implies acceptance of the General Conditions of Sale, mentioned below.

All reservations are made exclusively on our website and are made through an online reservation file. The reservation request is processed by us as quickly as possible. If the room is actually available on the desired dates, the future tenant will be invited to confirm their reservation by paying a deposit. All the practical details are set out in the reservation file. All correspondence relating to the reservation will be made exclusively via the messaging tool integrated into the reservation file, so that exchanges are archived chronologically and can be consulted by the tenant and the owner at any time.
(upon explicit and exceptional request, we can process your request by sending the contract and the deposit check by mail).

Important: in high season (school holidays), our rooms are preferably rented by the week. Our best rates are for stays of 7 nights or more. Shorter stays (1-2-3 nights) are possible if last minute availability is available or, at any time, if the requested dates are registered immediately before or after an existing reservation (see online schedules).

The reservation will be firm as soon as and only after receipt of the corresponding deposit which proves the existence of the rental contract. In the meantime, the room and the dates concerned remain open for reservation and possible requests made by other travelers.

Out of respect for our guests who trust us to reserve and pay for their stay well in advance, we do not offer reduced rates for last minute reservations.

All prices are indicative and may change without prior notice. Room allocation is subject to change in the event of force majeure.

No withdrawal
For reservations made, the tenant does not benefit from the withdrawal period, in accordance with article L121-20-4 of the Consumer Code relating in particular to providers of accommodation services provided on a specific date or at a specific frequency. .

Tourist tax

The Tourist Tax is a local tax that the customer must pay to the owner who then pays it to the Public Treasury.

Arrival and departure times
Arrival times are normally scheduled from 5 p.m. at the earliest and 7 p.m. at the latest unless mutually agreed.
Departure times are normally scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at the latest on the day of departure.
When you arrive after 7 p.m., even with our agreement, you accept the fact that we serve dinner at our Table d’Hôtes in the evening for all our guests and that we will do our best but we do not have much free time to welcome you to our home.
If a delay after 7 p.m. on the scheduled arrival date has not been reported by the customer, the owner may have the right to dispose of the room in order to re-let it while retaining the right to take action against the lessee.

Ability
The contract between the owner and the lessee (tenant) is established for a specific number of people. If the number of customers exceeds this number, the owner is able to refuse additional customers. This refusal can in no case be considered as a modification or termination of the contract at the initiative of the owner, so that in the event of the departure of a number of customers greater than those refused, no refund can be considered.

Children
La Coustille welcomes children from 8 years old.

Animals
We inform our kind customers that pets are not accepted at “La Coustille”.
If the customer still shows up in the company of his pet on the day of planned arrival, this refusal can in no case be considered as a breach of the contract at the initiative of the owner and in the event of the customer’s departure, no reimbursement cannot be considered.

WIFI connection
We are pleased to offer you a free WIFI connection for recreational and temporary purposes, without guarantee of connection quality. The password will be communicated to you upon your arrival.

Our Pool
The swimming pool is open in summer on request between 12:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., outside these hours and when we are not at home, it must remain closed for security reasons (according to French law).

Gift vouchers
Gift vouchers can be downloaded from our site and are valid for one year from the date of purchase. Vouchers are payable by sending a check by post. Vouchers are validated upon receipt of the check and confirmed by email. Gift vouchers are not refundable.

Cancellation – Interruption of stay
Our clauses are based on the conclusions of the European Court of Justice in its judgment rendered on July 18, 2007 in case C-277/05. They refer in particular to paragraphs 30 and 31 of the judgment mentioned above and cited below:

§30: “With regard specifically to deposits, it should be remembered, firstly, that these constitute the indication of the conclusion of a contract, insofar as their payment implies a presumption of the existence of this contract. Secondly, the deposit encourages the parties to perform the said contract, because the party who paid them is likely to lose the corresponding sum, the other party having to, where applicable, return this sum double if the non-performance comes from its own doing . Thirdly, the deposit constitutes lump sum compensation, given that their payment exempts one of the parties from proving the amount of the damage suffered when the other party deviates from its stipulation.

§31: “The reason for the deposit, in the hotel sector, corresponds, in principle, to the characteristics described above, they are therefore intended to constitute the index of the conclusion of the contract, the incentive to execution thereof and possible lump sum compensation.”

It is therefore agreed that in the event of withdrawal by the tenant before the rental takes effect, the tenant loses the deposit paid.

A last minute cancellation (from 7 days before your scheduled arrival date), the entire rental is due to us (EXCLUDING COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS CONDITIONS)

We will offer to postpone your stay up to one year later free of charge, in the same rate zone as initially planned (off-season or high season). The reference date will be the initially planned date of arrival.

Any interrupted stay is due in full.
We strongly recommend taking out cancellation insurance.
The stay begins on the date the tenant is supposed to arrive, even if the tenant does not show up, with or without prior notice.

In case of no-show

If the tenant does not show up late, without warning of his late arrival, the owner is entitled to re-let the room from 8:00 p.m. to other tenants.

Room occupancy
The lessee (tenant) has an obligation to occupy the premises personally, to live there “as a good father”. All facilities are in working order. Any complaint concerning them occurring more than 24 hours after taking possession of the premises will not be accepted. Repairs made necessary by negligence will be the responsibility of the lessee (tenant). The tenant has the obligation to ensure that the tranquility of the neighborhood is not disturbed by the action of the lessee or his family.

The premises are rented furnished with blankets and pillows, sheets and towels. If applicable, the owner will be entitled to claim from the lessee upon departure, the total value at the replacement price of objects, furniture or equipment that are broken, cracked, chipped or damaged and those whose wear exceeds normal for the duration of the rental, the price of cleaning dirty blankets, compensation for damage of any kind to curtains, wallpaper, ceilings, rugs, carpets, windows, bedding, etc.

Provision of drinks and food
We offer drinks at reasonable prices at our bar on request.
Following delicate experiences, we do not accept the bringing of outside drinks and food to our Table d’Hôtes. A corkage fee of 7.50 Euros will be charged per drink/bottle if applicable.
For reasons of hygiene and fire safety, it is forbidden to eat, cook or plug in any electrical machine used for cooking in our rooms (kettle, coffee machine, microwave, stoves, etc.). .)

Insurance
The lessee certifies that he holds personal insurance covering damage caused to third parties. Lack of insurance, in the event of a disaster, will give rise to damages. N.B. Most house/apartment insurance policies include a “resort” clause which covers this type of risk.

We recommend that you take out extremely comprehensive insurance online (and inexpensively) from “Europ Assistance”.
For reimbursement of the deposit, we advise you to read your Credit card contract: Some cards (VISA Gold or Mastercard Gold) include trip cancellation insurance if you paid the deposit with this card.

The tenant has the obligation to report, within 24 hours, any disaster occurring in the accommodation, its outbuildings or accessories.

The lessee cannot object to a visit to the premises, when the owner requests it.
